A ready-made study skills session for your senior students
Strong study habits matter most in Years 11 and 12. But with a packed senior syllabus, there’s rarely class time left to teach them.
Our on-demand webinar, “Get a head start on Year 11 and 12”, is one way to fit them in. It’s free and runs for about 30 minutes, plus a Q&A. Students can watch it at home over the summer holidays.
What’s in the webinar
The session is led by Liz, a former NSW humanities teacher now on the Atomi team. Rachel, a former Queensland science teacher, joins her for the Q&A. Students get:
- The three study habits Liz taught her own senior classes: practice, consistency and acting on feedback
- A walkthrough of using Atomi for independent study, including videos, quizzes and revision sessions
- Tools from the Study Skills course, like a SMART goals worksheet and a Cornell notes template
- Answers to student questions, from whether to pre-learn content to how long to study each night
The habits apply whether or not your students use Atomi.
Liz shares how those habits played out in her Legal Studies class. In their first Year 11 exam, the top multiple-choice mark was 11 out of 20. After two years of short quizzes at the start of almost every lesson, the lowest mark was 17 out of 20.
If your school uses Atomi
Students who watch the webinar may come back to you with new questions. Liz encourages them to screenshot anything they don’t understand and ask about it in class.
Some will ask for more practice. Liz suggests they ask you for custom quizzes, which you can create with Atomi’s AI-powered quiz tool.
